Mike Farris
Mike Farris began his career as the frontman of the rock band The Screamin’ Cheetah Wheelies. After a turbulent period marked by alcohol and drugs, he left his rock past behind and embraced soul, blues, and gospel. He even made it his mission to reintroduce the old roots music of a century ago to a wider audience — and he excels at it, as if his voice were made for soul.
His calling took him to the sacred ground of the genre: FAME Studios in Muscle Shoals, Alabama. There, he recorded an album with descendants of the legendary Muscle Shoals Rhythm Section, fully honoring the musical heritage of the place. The result showcases why Farris has long been considered at the top of the blue-eyed soul scene.
