The German roots outfit Smokestack Lightnin’ hails from Nuremberg, though it might just as well be Nashville. They have a rare knack for reviving the musical heyday of the American South. With twang-driven guitars as their compass, they navigate the rich musical heritage of the 1950s through the 1970s. Artists such as Jake LaBotz and The Seatsniffers have gladly teamed up with the quartet. And for good reason, because with German precision they forge rockabilly, country and blues into one driving, irresistible whole.
